Game Day 2011

We began with a gospel rally at 11:30 a.m. at the Bradfordville Baptist church where we gathered about 700 strong. Music was provided by the church’s praise band, and it was extremely good. We heard a testimony from a student athlete who had lost one of his team mates to a sudden and unexpected death this summer. He shared how this event helped cement and confirm his own commitment to Christ. We also saw a skit team from Thomas County Central perform. Our MC for the rally was Coach Willie Spears from Suwanee High School in Fla. and he always does a great job. Our feature speaker was Anthony Beckham from Power Unlimited in Jacksonville, Fla. He spoke about being “down but not out” and used the Biblical example of David, the shepherd boy facing Goliath. It was a great message of encouragement. We saw close to 100 young people respond to the invitation to live for Christ. We followed that with a Chick-Fil-A lunch and then loaded up the buses to go to the game. We had a beautiful fall day and saw our Seminoles show out and put a “whipping” on University of Maryland. It was a great game, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. GO NOLES . . . BETTER YET . . . GO JESUS!
